Interview: Top U.S. Army Commander In Afghanistan Discusses New South Asia Strategy

In an interview with RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan, the top U.S. Army commander in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson, spoke on August 26 about the new U.S. strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia that was recently announced by President Donald Trump. He asked the countries in the region to "support the Afghan government and its security forces" in their fight against Islamic State militants.
