Israel Claims Hizballah To Transfer Soldiers To Iran

July 13, 2006 -- Israel says the Lebanese-based Hizballah is planning to transfer two abducted Israeli soldiers to Iran.

Gideon Meir, a senior official with the Israeli Foreign Ministry, told a news conference in Jerusalem today that Israel has "specific information" that the Shi'ite militia is planning to transfer the soldiers to Iran.

Meir called Iran and Syria "primary elements" in an "axis of terror" that threatens Israel.
