At Least 12 Killed In Latest Iraq Violence

U.S. armored vehicles in Baghdad today (epa) March 1, 2007 -- Clashes broke out today between Iraqi police and gunmen in Iskandariya, south of Baghdad, killing at least five people and leaving several wounded.

Police say casualties were on both sides. In Al-Fallujah, police reported a car bombing at a police officer's wedding reception that killed at least five people.


The U.S. military today said its troops killed two insurgents and detained six near Al-Ramadi, in western Iraq.
