Former Bosnian Muslim Commander's Trial Begins

Rasim Delic (undated) (AFP) July 9, 2007 -- One of the most senior Bosnian Muslims to appear at the UN war crimes tribunal is due to go on trial in The Hague today.
Rasim Delic, a former Bosnian Army commander, is charged with responsibility for murder, rape, and torture of Bosnian Croats and Serbs by his troops.

Delic is accused of failing to punish alleged atrocities committed by foreign Islamic fighters under his command during the 1992-95 war.

He has denied the charges against him.
