More Fatalities In Pakistan Flooding

Pakistani Army personnel help villagers after their house was destroyed by flash flooding in Ursoon village in Chitral earlier this month. At least 55 people have been killed since the beginning of July due to flooding, according to Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority.

At least 21 people have been killed in northwest Pakistan when a bus carrying wedding guests was swept away by flooding.

The incident occurred on July 30 in the Landi Kotal area of Khyber tribal district, located on the border with Afghanistan.

Police official Iqbal Khan said more than 25 wedding guests had been travelling in the vehicle.

South Asia's summer monsoon season frequently results in flash floods in Pakistan, which cause widespread damage in rural villages with minimal infrastructure.

At least 55 people have been killed since the beginning of July due to flooding, according to Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority.

During the rainy season last summer, torrential downpours and flooding killed 81 people and affected almost 300,000 people across the country.
