BERASTSE -- Court hearings have started in western Belarus into the explosions last year at a plywood plant in the town of Pinsk that killed 14 workers, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.
The plant's former engineers -- Uladzimer Shastakau and Ihar Logvin -- are charged with violating fire safety regulations, and plant director Leanid Logvin is accused of negligence that led to more than one person's death.
The incident in October 2010 was caused by the explosion of two boilers in the plant's workshop. Along with killing 14 workers, five other employees were left disabled because of the blasts.
Laran Arynich, the former general-director of the Pinskdrev company that owned the plywood plant, is also wanted by authorities for alleged responsibility for the explosions.
Arynich is currently abroad and his exact whereabouts are unknown.
