WASHINGTON -- More than 100 members of the U.S. House of Representatives have signed a letter in support of "robust diplomacy" with Iran as the "best possible strategic option."
The signatories say the U.S. Congress should give diplomacy with Iran a chance.
"A bill or resolution that risks fracturing our international coalition or, worse yet, undermining our credibility in future negotiations and jeopardizing hard-won progress toward a verifiable final agreement, must be avoided," the letter reads.
It has been signed by 100 Democrats and four Republicans.
The Obama administration has warned that new sanctions could derail diplomacy with Tehran.
Iran and six world powers are due to meet in Vienna next week for a new round of nuclear talks.
The talks come following the implementation of the interim deal reached in Geneva in November.
