We are hiring an Evaluation Manager to join our Program Review team. Responsibilities include moderation of content evaluation panels, drafting comprehensive reports, and delivering the findings to services and company leadership as well as ensuring the high quality of the program review process throughout the year.

What does the role entail?
- Maintaining a complex schedule for program review translation and preparation of English-language transcripts of selected segments of RFE/RL broadcasts for program evaluation as required by the Government Performance and Requirements Act (GPRA) process of the U.S. Government and USAGM;
- Coordinating selection of programming;
- Managing and moderating in-house evaluation review panels and preparing content evaluations based upon findings of the panel;
- Monitoring program content and alerting RFE/RL management to items that seem contrary to RFE/RL's policy of providing fair and objective information;
- Managing and supervising editing of program review and other translations for factual content, accuracy, grammar, spelling, and other potential errors in cooperation with translators and/or the relevant broadcast service; editing translations;
- Commissioning external translation of materials for ad hoc and regular reviews; arranging ad hoc emergency translations and overseeing payment for them;
- Cooperating on audience research inputs into the Program Review process;
- Coaching, training, mentoring and providing advice/guidance to language services.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
- 7+ years of experience in journalism, content evaluation, media analysis, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English language, written and spoken; knowledge of an RFE/RL broadcast language is desirable.
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, international relations, or related field.
- Competency, good knowledge and proven abilities across various platforms and media.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to:
- explain and distill complex detailed information
- work effectively with people from widely different cultural backgrounds
- provide subject matter expertise in English
